Live-linked data panel for tables, so tariff and price lists update without re-typing
Illustrator's variables and data merge work for one-to-one records, but laying out and maintaining a simple multi-row table — a price list, a tariff table, a schedule — still means typing every cell by hand and re-checking it at every revision.
Our studio produces updated tariff tables for community notice boards and service posters. The figures are cross-checked against dewa bill check and then pasted cell by cell into Illustrator, which is slow and easy to get wrong when a rate changes at the last minute.
A panel that links a table to a CSV or spreadsheet and refreshes the values in place, keeping the paragraph and cell styles, would remove the most error-prone step in this kind of everyday print work.
