1. Add CSS color styling option to OpenType-SVG specification, so font colors may be altered in Illustrator

   Currently, OpenType-SVG color fonts come with pre-defined colors.

   To provide glyphs in different shades, additional stylistic sets need to be added to the font, bloating it tremendously.

   I propose to add the ability to OpenType-SVG to have certain colors of a glyph being overwritten by the application (e.g. Illustrator), so text colors can be applied to a range of glyphs just like it's done with standard monochrome glyphs.

   To do so, OpenType-SVG should be able to export a set of color reference names, referenced within the glyph's SVG. An application may then assign alternate colors to those color references, so the glyph will render using these colors.

   For example, an OpenType-SVG glyph may look similar to this:

2. Please make default character styles accessible by all new illustrator documents and easy to manage and edit.

   Please make it much, much easier to cause Illustrator to default to a common set of character and paragraph styles. Having to go into a hidden user folder to modify print.ai is an insult. In the styles menu, please include a "save to common styles". I have thousands of lines of code that automate adobe illustrator, and every time the software is updated everything comes crashing down. Having a shared, common repository of character styles that are available in every document should be simple and easy to manage.

3. Full Unicode Support and Unicode Hexadecimal Input Support with the Alt key

   Please add full Unicode support to Adobe Illustrator. I understand many Unicode characters are not supported by different fonts but it would be great if there was support for Unicode characters such as angle brackets, ⟨a, b⟩ that are supported by certain fonts that incorporate a wide range of Unicode characters. For example, the Noto font family supports over 64,000 Unicode characters. It would also streamline the workflow if there was a way in Illustrator to enter Unicode characters using the Alt key (in Microsoft Word, if you type the hexadecimal code of a Unicode character, then press Alt+X, it renders the corresponding Unicode character). Thank you!

4. More Text Frame & Type options like: Inset Spacing, Auto Fit, Columns and Bullet & Num Lists

   I highly appraise adding the much needed Vertical Text Alignment feature from indesign to Illustrator. While they are at it I would like to request more Text Frame & Type features to be migrated over from Indesign. Like Inset Spacing, Auto Fit, Columns and Bullet & Numbered Lists .

   Why? Due to Illustrator having more flexible and abundant creativity oriented vector design features I often pick Illustrator over Indesign to create single page designs like flyers or posters. Having more control over type would speed up the design workflow significantly. Lack of Type control is the only thing that causes some real frustration when designing in Illustrator.

5. The option to select the text on the active artboard and not just the whole document.

   The option to select the text on the active artboard and not just the whole document. Presently I can select all text elements, I can then flatten/outline the text. But... if I need to outline the text on the active artboard, that would save a lot of time.

7. Arabic text handling

   Hi, please make something better with typing in Arabic, I'm working on packaging industries that using several languages in the design, Arabic is one of them. if using Arabic as a tittle it's ok it just a little and just a few typing, but when handling in such as ingredient nor nutritional value it keeps make some trouble if there is a number or just period (.), combined in the text. Please fix this, because it's very frustrating, because i copied from excel but when paste it ini illy then you have this trouble.

8. To be able to size and line space text based on a capitol curve letter "C", "O" or "S" and to have exact width without tracking.

   I create a lot of graphics for signage using Illustrator and most depend on actual sizing and spacing of the text. If I put 12" letters and convert to outlines the text is is really 25% smaller. So I eather have to outline the text and lose editability or I have to eyeball a clipping mask to the curve letter and rezize the cliping mask to the correct size. Also the width should be based on the actual vectors and not the letters with Tracking (Kerning). If I add 100 tracking to the text, it is wider then the actual vectors and that creates issues with making sure the letters will fit on a wall that they would be attached to. TY

9. create outline for fonts cause missing font

   when I use numbers in text and I want to convert outline the font becomes missing or disappear
   in illustrator 2018 does not have this problem while in illustrator 25.0.1 have this problem

10. Save 'Find and Replace' searches

    Have an option to save input searches in the Find and Replace box. Then make it possible to load those searches when needed.

    This would prevent entering the same searches day in and day out.

11. Automatic spell check (similar to InDesign)

    While not everyone creates text heavy content in AI, it would be a MAJOR help if I could either have a 3rd party way to spell check as I go or to have an internal method of doing this.

12. Add 16px and 20px to the font-size drop down

    With base rem being 16px, 16px has become the standard for readable text on a website. It would be good UX to have more base 4 standard font-sizes in the font-size select drop down.

    7px, 9px, 11px and 21px are essentially useless to me but they have a seat in the dropdown, you could easily replace/swap a couple of them out for 16px and 20px. I don't know many designers, printers, or developers that use odd pixel sized fonts.

13. Warning when a file uses PostScript Type 1 fonts

    Illustrator should put up a warning when a file is opened that contains Type 1 fonts, so the user is aware of that.
    - Link the warning to the EOL announcement, to Find/Replace resp. Adobe Fonts
    - User should be able to disable the warning
    - The warning should not pop up when there is no Type 1 font used in the file
    - Maybe this could be scriptable, so people can include it in large scale file checks

14. Type on a Path Options

    Type on a Path needs significant improvements.

    • The Preview button should be sticky and the default position should be on.
    • There need to be more alignment options including Cap Height and x Height.
    • The options should be a panel not a dialogue.
    • The options should be included in a style, perhaps by adding InDesign like object styles.
    • The margins added when a path is converted to a type path should always start out at the ends of the path, not some arbitrary points along the path.

16. Make the preview of the Arabic computer Fonts connected to each other

    During our selection of one of the Arabic fonts, the font preview in the list is incorrect in the Arabic letter and it is intermittent instead of being connected as is the case with letters in the Arabic language

17. Allow user to set type font and size, and keep it until selecting a different font and size

    I think it would be great if the program “remembered” which type font and size I was working with before in the same file, and keep it that way until I change it. It would also be great to be able to set the type and size across the program if desired, and have it be saved that way until I change it to a different font/size. Because right now, it always automatically goes to the default font and size, which is inconvenient, especially since the default size is 48 point, which is HUGE.

18. how to downgrade to 2020 version?

    It has been automatically upgraded to 2021 version but some of the add on functions do not work. How do I downgrade to 2020 version?

19. Disappering file info

    When exporting document from Illustrator by ”Save for Web (legacy)...” File info just disappear from final document. That is quite annoying because I'll have to fill all fields once again.
