Starting CC 2019 we are scaling the user interface a little on high resolution devices. To turn that off please use the small value as described on this page to get back the behaviour of previous release.

Dialog boxes appearing on second display
I run Illustrator CC on an iMac (5K, 27-inch, late 2015) running Mojave, with a secondary ViewSonic display for browser windows, etc. I do my design work on the iMac display. Sadly, all of my Adobe Illustrator dialog boxes (save, etc.) appear on that second display (this has been the case for the last few CC releases, and predates Mojave)—it got so annoying that I disconnected the second display for a while. No issues with the other Adobe apps I run (Photoshop and InDesign). Would love to see this resolved.1 vote
Please upgrade to latest Illustrtor version 23.0. We did fix something similar. However we do recommend and support Illustrator only on primary monitors
Viewing files when placing an image
For a short time recently when I choose File>place and navigate to my stock image folder, the most recently downloaded file appeared first. SUPER TIME SAVER (Using Windows 10). Now it seems this feature is gone and I have to sift through hundreds of files once again. I can set file explorer to sort by "date created" ie. date created ON MY COMPUTER, but I can't replicate this viewing option any more through Illustrator's place option. Any ideas?1 vote
unfortunately the feature that you are referencing is provided by Windows operating system. We use the Windows system fie open dialog to enable file place on your artboard.
Please click on sort by date created this should resolve your problem.
Linked image cannot be moved by fill once it's scaled down to certain point.
An image file, size ~100cmx140cm, was imported into ai. Once it's scaled down to around 10mmx14mm, it can't be selected by its fill( even I zoomed really up close), I'll have to move it around by selecting it's bounding box. When I scale it up a little bit like 1mm, it fixes the problem. This is super annoying. Please fix it.
( I'm using the latest version to date.)1 vote
there is a zoom level on screen beyond which an object can become too small for all of widgets to be meaningfully operated on by the mouse cursor.
Please zoom in a little so that the mouse cursor can fit in between the bounding bog and be able to select a fill area. this should solve the issue.
If it does not Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
