Cropping Layers
I know that cropping images is not yet a feature either. However, I have been having a horrible time trying to crop a layer so that I can continue designs throughout.
The only option right now is Transform, which makes the design look very novice.

Lucy, cropping a live link is something we really can’t have in Ai — but we can clip it. And if you embed an image to Ai — it allows to physically crop it, removing the excessive pixels.
But what do you exactly mean by 'cropping a layer'? Why 'layer', and not an artboard, or an artwork? And which exactly workaround with Transform you are referring to? Can you please elaborate on this, and maybe provide some images to clarify the request?
