  1. Detect Live Text with Image Trace

    You can now detect and trace text as text (not paths) with Image Trace in the new Beta Build 28.8.0.43 (available in CCD).

    Use the checkbox 'Live Text' under Advanced section of the Image Trace panel to turn text detection ON/OFF. The traced text would be available as a live text object post trace and expand.

    Please try this function in the build and provide your inputs and observations.

  2. Font Height Options

    This feature, first introduced in Illustrator 2020 (version 24.3) in August of 2020, allows users to set font size not only traditionally, by its line height, which includes ascenders and descenders, but also based on lowercase and capital letters’ height.

    To access this function, we should open the Character panel’s flyout menu and enable 'Font Height Options' option. This adds one more dropdown in the panel and modifies the look of the Font Size field’s icon, reflecting the chosen font height reference.

  4. Auto-Font Activation

    Auto-activate missing Adobe Fonts when you open an Ai document. When you open a document that contains Adobe fonts that are not installed on your machine, Ai will automatically find, download (sync), and install the fonts.
