Whilst we're waiting for a workable solution to this bug. I've been saving new documents to the Creative Cloud storage space, then viewing the list of documents via a web browser, downloading the cloud doc to my desktop, which then turns it into a standard AI file.

It's not ideal, but it now means I can create new AI files and still do my job.

    Illustrator 26.1
    Monterey 12.3
    MacBook Pro M1

Exactly the same problem for me also. Greyed out 'Save' button and the only way to get out from that dialogue box is to save the file in the Cloud or Force Quit out the application.

Tried multiple install and reinstalls of the current and previous versions of the software also.

This problem has occurred since installing the latest macOS update. 12.3

Hope that a fix can be worked out soon.

I currently can't save to my hard drive on my Mac. When I try to save a new file, the dialogue box appears and the option to save to my HD is inactive. The only way to get out of this to Force Quit the application. The only option that works is to save to Creative Cloud. Currently Illustrator is unusable.

This issues seems to have started since updating the Mac OS.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of Illustrator as well as installing older versions. But this hasn't resolved the problem.
