A slash can’t be used in a file name. since it’s an OS reserved symbol.
There are other symbols like this: < > : " / \ | ? *

Sometimes when I command/save, then reopen that file, the last change I made is gone. Now, when I do a save as, Illustrator refuses to save the file as the name I input. It looks like I copy/paste a file name the client wants, then if I alter it within the save as window, it refuses to save the file at all.
WTF is up with this stuff? I'm no programmer, but how is it that major bugs like this come up with every new version?
I figured out what the issue is with file naming... client requested a "/" be in the file name, but Illustrator removes everything before that character. Saves properly if I don't use a slash in the file name.
