The Workspace wouldn't change what windows were open, the Workspaces couldn't be switched on or off, "Essentials Classic" wouldn't get automatically selected, and when clicking on any of the Workspaces it would turn on "Essentials Classic" without changing what windows were open or closed.
It used to give me an unknown error message. I soon fixed it by resetting my computer after updating Illustrator, then opening a previous project, clicking the home button, and the "Essentials Classic" windows suddenly opened on the home screen, then reopened the project and the windows stayed. After that, it's now working properly.
This issue seems to be fix. Thanks for your time!
