Changing the CPU preview has no effect.
Im using the current 2026 app on Mac desktop. Sometimes closing and reopening the file fixes it. Sometimes not. I even reverted back to the previous app version to see if that would help.
I dont know how to tell if its my computer specifically or something corrupting my files. An error occurred while saving the comment

Ive been having this problem for a while now, and cant seem to find a fix. AI wont display linked resource images correctly, it wont show drop shadows correctly, effects and images just go missing as Im working on files. And when I export them, it creates PNGs that show them with those same errors. What is going on?!

Okay I will package one example and send it. It is happening across multiple files I work on.
Yes this is on a network server here in my office, my files and linked resources are on a server. An error occurred while saving the comment

I am now having this issue where the placed AI files in ID arent showing the layouts correctly. Its not fully reading, displaying or saving the linked images in my artboards.

It just started happening, might be an OS update or Adobe update. But it is happening in more than one file. I will open some older things to see if older version files do the same thing. I might try a beta version if yall have it out.

Hi there,
I will attach more samples, see how the shadow is showing on one shape, but the same thing one board over just stops rendering like halfway? And some of them don't show any at all? Yes, the shadow still shows in the appearance panel, but not on the object. If I change the color, the shadow shows up. If I change to GPU, no difference.
Odd, I dont know why the clipping mask is a grouped circle, but even if I unmask the images, its still showing it as a black block. It only renders it if I embed the image or reopen the file. Sorry yes the two with grey circles are just empty for now.

Yes I suppose the reports look similar. That second one was actually shared by me.
No it seems the previous build didnt solve the problem so I updated to whatever the current build is.
