The day has come. The latest 30.5.0.102 Beta adds Align To and Distribute Spacing commands into the Object menu.

These also work in actions, can get hotkeys assigned.

A shy message gets displayed when Align To mode is toggled to be sure it’s switched, and the Distribute Spacing dialog allows the set the gap value with the Preview option.

This is a lot, and it now completes the original request.

Please try, test, comment back, have joy!

My system: Win 11 pro, Illustrator 29.8.3

Overprint attribute stays checked when it is not needed anymore!

    Steps to repeat:
    1. Create an object.
    2. Set Overprint Fill or Stroke checkmark (on "Attributes" panel).
    3. Click anywhere to deselect object.
    4. Create a new object. Because the Overprint attribute still stays checked, a new object instantly gets this attribute applied.

Very easy to solve - just reset Overprint attribute when no object selected.
This bug stays forever already. Very unpleasant and sometimes can cause troubles when printing.
