    1. Details of my operating system:
Windows 11 Pro, Version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.9168).
    Hardware: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900K (3.20 GHz), 32.0 GB RAM, 64-bit.

    2. The version of Adobe Illustrator (desktop) I am using:
    Illustrator v30.7

    3. The steps I was taking when I experienced the issues:
I work with large format documents containing hundreds of artboards for vinyl production. Recently, while managing (adding, duplicating, and deleting) multiple artboards using the Artboard tool and shortcuts, I noticed a critical desync in the Artboards panel. The internal Artboard ID (the number in the left column) completely stops matching the actual artboard count. Multiple artboards end up sharing the exact same ID number (for example, artboards 14 and 15 both show ID 15; 25 and 26 both show ID 26).

To solve this on my own, I tried two troubleshooting methods:

Troubleshooting Attempt 1: I used the "Rearrange All Artboards" option from the panel menu. While this updated the visual layout on my canvas, the internal IDs in the left column remained completely broken and desynced.

Troubleshooting Attempt 2: Thinking the specific file might just be corrupted, I used the Artboard Tool to select all my artboards, copied them, and pasted them into a brand-new, clean document. Unfortunately, the corrupted metadata is attached to the artboards themselves, so the duplicated IDs transferred exactly the same way to the new file.

Finally, when I export the document to PDF or JPG, the real problem happens.

    4. My expected result and the actual result:

My expected result: The Artboards panel should maintain a unique, sequential ID for every single artboard, and the export engine should output all of them accurately.

Actual result: Because multiple artboards share the same internal ID, the export engine completely skips or overwrites them. I end up with randomly missing files and pages in my final export folder.

    Impact on my production:
This bug is incredibly destructive to my daily workflow. I prepare hundreds of cut pieces for large-format vinyl printing on my HP Latex plotter. Missing even a single artboard during the export process because of a software indexing bug disrupts my entire production line, delays the final assembly, and causes very expensive time n money waste.
