The team again asks for help with this issue, since there are not specific steps they can try to reproduce it — the nature of the bug is random.
If you are a Windows user, the next time you spot a missing or a duplicated number in Artboards panel, please follow these instructions below.
1. Open Task Manager
2. In Details tab, locate 'Illustrator.exe'
3. Right click it and choose 'Create dump file'
4. Wait until the dumping process is complete and click 'Open file location' button
5. Find 'Illustrator.dmp' (sorting files by date helps) and compress it with any archiving utility

When I have multiple artboards and I start to rename them, sometimes, completely randomly, renaming one artboard, automatically renames the one above it ending up in two artboards with the same name. Look what happens here: https://www.screencast.com/t/ywyCAyfhEOH

Thank you for looking into this. The file can be found here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4zzzuk43glay5rs/Holidays%202017_SC.ai?dl=0The problem doesn't appear when I open it now. Unfortunately I can't remember what I did when I was working on the file that triggered that odd numbering. It was just a visual bug as I remember well that there were no issues exporting the artboards.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Thank you,

However on export, exporting artboard 65 Illustrator exports it normally. So it's just a visual bug.
OK, I just posted a comment and I noticed something odd in the video, so now I think I have found what action triggers this bug. Please watch (and wait for it): https://www.screencast.com/t/Xxugi3ai8LAQ
