Illustrator TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Got your e-mail saying you need more info but I have absolutely no idea how to post back so I’m posting again.
This file was saved exactly at the point where the problem is. You should be able to select isolated select groups….in this case the rectangles.
This works fine in 2017 and 2018.
Select all line work>create new layer and lock.
Select all line work>Expand appearance>merge.
Create colored fill>send to back.
Select fill and line work>merge>right click “Select Isolated Groups”.At this point you should be able to select any closed group and color or edit it.

An error occurred while saving the comment I’m working on this file today.
The file is saved right after I merged the artwork and colored layers…then right at the point where I click Isolate Selected Groups.
Everything should hightlight but nothing highlight.Matt.ai
I'm using AI 2022 and Isolate Selected Groups is working as I think it should. it wasn't in 2018. That was a tough two years trying to reproduce other's work, however. The user I was trying to emulate was not on the subscription and using a pre subscription version of AI.
