Hi All,
We have fixed this issue in 24.0.3 version of Illustrator (MAC only issue). Please update to 24.0.3 if you are encountering this issue. For all the other issues which you are encountering regarding the update or the new document dialog or any other please create another User Voice thread for that issue so that we can track it there itself.

Based on feedback, this issue is fixed by upgrading to MacOS Catalina . We are closing this .Let us know if you are still observing this on MacOS Catalina and we will reopen this thread.

Catalina 10.15.2 and Illustrator 24.0.2
Opening existing file and making changes then using "SAVE" to overwrite the file. Not saving any changes at all. In fact, after closing, the file shows no modifications since March 2019. Also, saved a pdf file from Illustrator, made simple change then hit "SAVE" again. Saving files to a folder on my Desktop as well as across a network. It happens (or neglects to happen, so to speak) regardless.
