Overwriting PDF-Files does not work anymore with build 24.0.2 ! Till 24.0.1 it works. Pleas fix this. Current Update is a desaster.
Hi All,
We have fixed this issue in 24.0.3 version of Illustrator (MAC only issue). Please update to 24.0.3 if you are encountering this issue. For all the other issues which you are encountering regarding the update or the new document dialog or any other please create another User Voice thread for that issue so that we can track it there itself.
Thanks & Regards,
Illustrator Team

As of this week (May 17 2020) I've started encountering this problem with the PC version of Illustrator (version 24.1.2, 64-bit) running on Windows 10. Never encountered it before. Not only can I not overwrite an existing PDF (using the same file name) when the error occurs, but I can also not delete the existing file, until I re-boot my PC... Come on Adobe...

Adobe Illustrator problem
This problem has only occurred since I upgraded to Illustrator 24.1 recently. Had no problem until then. After many hours of trial and error, and also using an old machine using AI v.19, this is what I have discovered:When I open a PDF generated on another program, I get a solid black block (Fig 1)
If I Select>Object>All text objects, then go to Stroke and type in 1 pt, the text appears and I can change the font.
However, if I open the Layers window, each letter of the text appears twice, once solid and once in outline.
When I try to edit the text, the outline letter changes, but overprints the solid letter.I have also tried to change the font in Acrobat Pro, which was OK, but the letters moved haphazardly all over the place, and each row and column would have to be re-aligned.

I'm on a macOS High Sierra v. 10.31.1 and using the latest Illustrator CC version. For several months, most of my keyboard shortcuts stopped working. This has seriously dampened my productivity and is most frustrating.
CMD+Spacebar doesn't zoom.
Panning with spacebar doesn't work. I have to use the Hand tool now.
Using the up and down arrow keys to increase/decrease segments, etc. don't work.
I can no longer shift-drag a point to scale an object. I now have to use the Scale tool.
The list goes on and on. I can't find any information on this online. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! -

Ok so now it overwrites. Still having issues with saving out as a pdf and getting a pdf that says the illustrator file was saved without pdf content. VERY ANNOYING and a waste of time and money.

I can confirm I have also a blank window on create a new document. But for me after several seconds the window is filled. Workaround is to set in Ai Preferences > General > Use legacy "File New" interface

Nice Going Ding-Dongs on the Illustrator 24.0.3 Update. You Broke the Startup Window so that it is BLANK! with Just "Create" & "New" on the Left Panel. I had to waste an hour back-peddling to 24.0.2. You guys manage to **** me off with ****-*hit updates like this! Fix some things, Break some others. 🤬 (MacOS)

@Daniel Chama:
This entire discussion is all about a Illustrator for MacOS (Apple) issue... Windows have nothing to do with this, there's no issue, nor any update for the Windows version of Illustrator :-)

24.0.3 has killed my workflow. File saves over the network are taking 10X longer than before, and it was already ridiculously slow. My advice: DO NOT UPDATE TO 24.0.3 if you save files over a network.

*IRONY ON* I would like to request Adobe to refund our 18x corporate Adobe CC licences for a full year in compensation of our lost because of the bug they accidentally introduced in version 24.0.2 and who can be easily worked-around by downgrading to version 24.0.1 *IRONY OFF*
Thank you Adobe for fixing this issue rapidly. Good work guys!

Can someone form Adobe, like Akshaya Saxena, explain to us what has happen? In just minor update such a huge bug in the core functions? The lates 24.0.3 was not a stability fix, more damage control!
I needed to explain to a customer why I send not updated files (just some text changes). So you can explain it to us! -

Hope problem like this will be announced publicly and explicitly in the future. Past few days, I kept thinking if my hard drive was the problem and it wasn't. I downgraded to 24.0.1. yesterday (1/20). Finally, I could overwrite PDF files as it should be. I guess I can upgrade to 24.0.3, but thinking about what had happened, I will just stick with 24.0.1... for a while.
