I am unable to save any files as .ai file, new or old. It simply says "An unknown error has occurred", I have to save as an eps or PDF. This is really worrying. I also cannot copy and paste vector objects into Photoshop now, it won't allow me to do it and says "operation can't complete because of an unknown error" [CANF]. Then when I close this warning box it says "Could not complete the paste command because the clipboard data is empty or invalid". This is completely destroying my workflow and work in general.

After updating to Illustrator 2020 I can now no longer save any files as .ai files, I have to save them as another format. This includes new documents and old ones I am resaving. I am using macOS Mojave 10.14.6
