    Go to Preferences
    Go to File handling and clipboard option of preferences and uncheck the option “Save in Background”

    "Save in Background" is a real hindrance to my fast-paced workflow. I work with many very small documents (100 kb) and I have to wait for the "...file is being saved" just to close a file & move on. Thanks for pointing out how to disable it.
