    We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 23.0.2

    I ended up selecting the object, and going to the colour panel in the lefthand side toolbar and picking a solid colour there. But it's very fiddly! Not great

    I am now having this same problem. Once I have added a gradient to an object, the same gradient is then automatically applied to every new object within the document. There is no obvious way to remove the gradient and use just a solid colour. I just installed 2019 CC and this is very confusing :(
