    TIP.. if you are using mac OS, launch "Activity Monitor" and force quit "AIRobin" process. All my illustrator work is saved over a network and I thought this issue was a network issue and larger files, however it is directly cause by the built in background save process "AIRobin". You may also notice that right after you save your document in illustrator does NOT register as being saved as the asterisk does not go away and trying to close immediately after saving.. IT ASKS TO SAVE AGAIN! This is ridiculous!! The AIRobin process may self launch a few times and you will need to keep force quitting it. FIX THIS ISSUE - remove the memory hog "AIRobin" it is causing nothing but headaches. After quitting the AIRobin process things will save faster and the save marker "*" will disappear from the document tab of the document saved. Good luck!! Awaiting patch for this BS....
