I'm having exactly the same problem. Each time I specify 100% black in a CMYK document, the 100% black is converted to 85c, 73m, 74y, 65k. This only happens when I specify 100% black; it doesn't happen with any other colors.

The default styles are all set correctly by the way.

The only workaround I've found is to create a 100%K color swatch and use that. For some reason, the swatch-specified color stays 100%K. However, when I specify %100%K on a piecemeal basis to any object in the document, the 100%K reverts to a rich black.

For what it's worth, this doesn't happen on every document, only on a few that I've updated from previous projects.

    Hi All,

We have fixed this issue in 24.0.3 version of Illustrator (MAC only issue). Please update to 24.0.3 if you are encountering this issue. For all the other issues which you are encountering regarding the update or the new document dialog or any other please create another User Voice thread for that issue so that we can track it there itself.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Illustrator Team
