  2. When a crash happens, the Recent Files lists get reset to the state they had on launch

    Have the similar issue with Recent Files list on the Welcome page. The list is not updated until restart of the application. E.g. you can create some new files and save them but they do not appear in the recent files welcome page. But they do appear if you restart the application.
