Pattern making
I want a feature in the pattern making panel. When I make a pattern I often duplicate a graphic and change something, maybe color, in the area where you make the graphics that shall be repeated. After duplicated I move it to the place where it is repeated. Then I can change color of one of the graphics for example, and these both graphics are now repeated. The problems is that when I move the graphic I kind of eyeball the placement of it. I would want to be more exact and quicker with it. I don't know what one would call it if one could make this automattic, "place the new graphic in the repeat"? And this should be possible to do if I have a bigger scene with more graphics that I want to duplicate. For example I may have a little scene and I want to duplicate it one step up and then both these to the right, then I have it duplicated four times. So it would be great if you could for example mark by covering up a grid how you want it duplicated. For example you could mark two rows in width and three rows in height to get it duplicated like that six times. Then I would get it exact, and it would be easy to get in and make some changes in it, in that new "tile".

E, this is something Illustrator can do.
Select some art and go Object > Pattern > Make.
Illustrator will open a dedicated panel, Pattern Options, and inform you that a new pattern is created based on your art. You are now in the dedicated pattern creation mode, where Ai does all the process you are describing. You can set tile size, tiling options, move elements so they can get wrapped on edges... All the arsenal.Read this article about the details: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/create-edit-patterns.html
