The team has encountered several issues with this feature. It requires them to change the basic algorithms and it is going to take them more time than anticipated.
While it still works in Beta 28.8.0.7, the next Beta build will have Inside/Outside aligned strokes for open paths disabled. The Beta is scheduled to be live on 7th of August.
Once this is ready to be enabled back, the team will update the status.

An error occurred while saving the comment E commentedIn appearance panel on the fill, I also add stroke to the fill. I get a line "outline stroke fx" in the appearance panel. And the popup says "click to edit effect". But nothing happens when I do.
I wrote something similar as a feature request. But as you get the row with "outline stroke" as you should be able to edit, maybe it is a bug instead?

An error occurred while saving the comment E commentedIt would be great if one could have several inputs of type in the appearance panel, so one can style two (or more) different type with one appearance.

An error occurred while saving the comment E commentedWhen I make a pattern and choose "size tile to art" and have a negative spacing, then it's not possible to have a background in the pattern, because then it clips the artwork. I haven't found a way to get passed this so it would be great if background was somehow in it's own layer beneath, so that it didn't clip the artwork.

This is very neccessary, because if you have gradient stroke outside artwork, then part of the stroke covers the artwork. I would really need to have gradient on outer stroke and with all three alignment options for the gradient.
Please make this possible. I have got the logic behind it explained, but from a user perspective I just want to accomplish the gradient stroke (with all alignment options), on the stroke outside, so artwork is not covered. So even if it is not "logic", then anyone using this would expect to be able to use any of the greyed out options, and get the same look on the stroke when it is outside as it is when it is centered.
