Add Nudge buttons to Properties/Transform
The new tools panel does not display nudge buttons on the transform tool X,Y, and W,H buttons. We use them frequently now have to display the application bar - which is a shame. There's room for them as the 'rounded corner' section has them!

I believe the OP confuses the Control panel (which is still available, Window > Control, but hidden by default) with the Properties one (not new anymore).
Control always had these arrow buttons near values, and Properties never had them from its inception date.
It does not mean it should not have though! -

Wouldn't it be great to have Nudge arrow buttons (like InDesign) to manipulate XYW and H by a value defined in Preferences?
A great design tool imho. -

I also noticed that when I use the direct selection tool (A) instead of the selection tool, the nudges for position and size come back in the same way as in the previous Illustrator versions.

The new update of Illustrator with the properties panel no longer includes the sizing arrows to increase or decrease the size of an object, length width etc., without having to type in a precise number. This seems like a backwards step, as previous versions provided the option to do either. Can this functionality be restored?

Took me ages to work this one out as well: just hover over the X, Y, W, H text fields and use the mousewheel to nudge by 1px.
