voice activated commands
What if all your basic commands could be said aloud? For example:
"File, save, export, save for web, jpg, 72 dpi, save, save to X folder..." or "select same fill color and stroke color, change to PMS246, object ungroup, select tool, select Layer 1, add 2 point white outline"
Why would this be cool?
I am the worst at remembering short keys or using short keys and I'm sure not the only one. When software gets updated, sometimes things get moved in menus and that can be frustrating. I can say the commands faster than I can point, click or use the keyboard. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry I get frustrated not being able to click fast enough. I've even been known to say the commands out loud when I am trying to resolve an issue or trying to concentrate.
I think this could open many doors for individual special needs. If a designer injures their hand, their livelihood can be gone forever. Any verbal commands or even facial/ eye movement adaptations to any software would be greatly beneficial. No one should have their creativity stifled by inability to use to great design tools. Voice commands would be a great place to start.
I hate to say this but your users are getting older and will be working longer and longer. Years and years of typing and clicking can really be ******* joint and muscles. (Arthritis is a real thing.) It seems that you would want to keep the health of your end user in mind for the investment longevity of your projects.

This is a great thread! I am an automatic speech recognition (which is the technology behind voice command recognition) researcher and am working to enable this function. I would like to add one point to the discussion: the users may want to keep their voice commands on their own device/workstation for privacy protection. If you have any other feature requirements or would like to further the discussion, you may email me at hoomii.ai@outlook.com.

I have a way to input most commands with voice while working in Adobe Illustrator 2020 on 10.15.4. It's under System Preferences...-> Accessibility-> Voice Control. The only caveat that I can't figure out yet is that I am able to add keyboard shortcuts and some menu items, but keyboard shortcuts can only be added if they use a modifier key. Which is a bummer because I don't want to remap all of the basic keys but would like to be able to access the "Keyboard Shortcuts" for those tools.
Whats really cool is your voice control commands can trigger a "Keyboard Shortcut" which you can have trigger an action in Illustrator.

I agree! We live in a Siri, Hey Alexa, age. It would be so cool to have one for Adobe.

I agree with all parties. As we move forward in technology, Apple and other voice controlled platform tech will enable us to control our homes, devices and basic IOS functions, why shouldn't our high end apps be enabled to be controlled based on our voice? All we should need to do is, is point and click at the object or objects we want processed, or inform the app, take X file and do X, or a list of X items as you both stated earlier. It's a given that this is the direction, next will be AI enabled apps, we have seen them and its going to get better in time. So Adobe and every other company needs to start thinking about creating a VOICE API to allow every OS to enable voice control in their devices. Great thread by the way.

This goes for all Abode products. I don't want to have voice command ability in Illustrator then move my work to Indesign, Dreamweaver, XD, Premiere Pro, Animate, etc. and have to remember how to work the "primitive way."
And I don't want to have to summon Adobe, like those other voice assistants: "Hey booble" "Abrexa" "Hey Slurpee". I don't talk to my friends or coworkers like that. They just know that I'm speaking to them.
If I'm in the program working, I should be able to turn on "Listening mode" and the Program should know when I'm speaking to it.
