Add Shear and Taper to Transform Effect (or add as Warp effect)
Shearing and tapering are ones of few operations that can't be automated procedurally.
Using 'Free distort' is very inconvenient, because it works in small dialogue window that doesn't show actual artwork (it doesn't even have Preview tick! — I'll add another feature request about it). Although 'Stylism' plugin from AstuteGraphics solves problem with control, revision is definitely required.
Shear tool and Free distort tool are fine, but they are live tools, and won't help to repeat same the effect later if needed.
Please, add shearing and tapering either as part of Transform effect or new Warp (both as effect and envelope preset).

This shouldn't be that difficult to add to Illustrator – it's sort of in InDesign, with modifiable shear angles in the control panel. I wish Illustrator had a similar interface. IMHO, ID wins in interface.

We can mirror, move, scale, rotate & flip an object's Appearance. Can you please add SHEAR to the Effects > Transform palette. Thanks

I can’t say I need Shear EACH often, but just today I needed that.

Taper can be achieved with any effect from Effect > Warp group, with Bend value set to 0, but Horizontal and Vertical Distortion tweaked.

This is one of those features you'll spend a half-hour looking for before realizing that it just isn't there. Why not? Nobody knows!

This is one of those "I cannot believe it isn't possible" missing features. Once a year, I search for this because I still can't believe i have to write down how much i skew something so that i can restore it an alter it and mirror it, etc.

A Shear can be calculated with a rotation and scale, we know. There is even a script to do that, http://sysys.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/53/
But we still need is a separate thing! -

Yes definitely this will help retain the original artwork whilst able to transform. Especially this will help generate the Isometric Objects once object styles are defined using such Effect > Transform.
Kind regards
