Artboard preview in Save dialog
In the theme of "recognition over recall," it would be great if the Save dialog allowed you to preview artboards the way the Print dialog does. When I'm working fast I don't always remember to stop and jot down the numbers of the specific artboards I need to export, and it's annoying to have to exit the save dialog, find the numbers, go back to the save dialog, repeat any necessary steps such as setting file name and location, THEN enter my desired artboard number(s) before moving forward. Having the artboard preview as part of the save window would cut out at least one tedious step.
(Bonus: while I referenced the print dialog preview as a possible way to execute this, I'd prefer a solution that shows a preview of all the artboards arranged in a grid by number, and allows me to select the artboards I want to export just by clicking on their thumbnails. The print dialog's current solution to this problem becomes tedious when dealing with large numbers of artboards.)

Egor, I actually like your 2nd idea better than mine-- being able to select the desired artboards in the document and AI recognizing those as the save/export range would be a much more elegant solution.
Photoshop already does this, so seeing the same functionality added to AI would be great. -
This sounds like a good idea.
When I export and tick 'Use Artboards', I have to remember which one.
I got used to remember which artboards I need to save/export BEFORE going to saving/exporting.
So my colleagues often hear something like 'from 2 to 12, 15, 16, from 20 to 36' I repeat aloud to better remember if :)But I also think it could slow process down.
So here are my thoughts about implementation of this (if this would ever be implemented):
1. Make sure AI doesn't show previews right from the start — drawing small images takes time. Each time I place AI-files in Photoshop I waste time waiting for it to draw all miniatures. So tick is required AND option to remember it's state.
2. AI should give us way to export artboards selected IN Artboards palette OR just in document. Like this we could have select artboards we need, either way (since it's possible now to select multiple artboards), and the AI would catch selection and propose it as save/export range.
I don't get why it's has been done yet.But all of this can wait until ton of bugs is fixed.
