An error occurred while saving the comment Neat commentedI've run into the same issue. No idea what's causing it, but it's incredibly frustrating.

The latest Beta 29.2.38 now offers a way to see the distances between a selected object and an object hovered over / edges of an artboard.
- Click on the object you want to measure the distance from
- Press Opt/Alt and hover over the object that you want to measure distance to
- You can also hover over empty area to see the distance from the selected object and the artboard boundaries
Please try it and come back with the feedback.

Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
An error occurred while saving the comment Neat commentedUpdate: so it appears the issue is isolated to one specific symbol in the file I'm working with. No idea what could be triggering it. The symbol in question is a header that contains an outlined version of a logo that I converted to a symbol and a dotted line. Nothing too extraordinary about either of them besides the logo symbol having a lot of components because there's a small illustration next to it.

The latest Beta 28.8.0.37 now has this function back.
You can enable the mode using a button in Control Panel or in Properties, with the Artboard tool picked.
The option automatically enables Scale Strokes & Effects option temporarily.
As always, you can hold Shift to resize proportionally.
Please test it and comment back!

Please share your thoughts on the following:
1. Would it make sense to have a separate desktop app, just to create charts, and bring them inside Illustrator or InDesign? It may not be on cloud.
2. Or would you rather have us work on building it within Illustrator?
Thanks
YogeshAn error occurred while saving the comment Neat commentedMy vote is for a separate tool. I think charting is complex enough and the needs of chart designers specialized enough to justify having its own program.

Latest versions of Illustrator can do that.
If you have the bounding box enabled, double-click the bottom filled square handle to toggle Auto Size.
You can also do that in Area Type Options dialog.

An error occurred while saving the comment Neat commentedEgor, I actually like your 2nd idea better than mine-- being able to select the desired artboards in the document and AI recognizing those as the save/export range would be a much more elegant solution.
Photoshop already does this, so seeing the same functionality added to AI would be great.Neat shared this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Neat commentedI agree. There's no reason changing the alignment of point text should reposition its container.

Hi Everyone, This feature has been available since August 2020 release (version 24.3). Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html Thank you for all the feedback.
You can now select multiple layers in Layers panel. Click the bars (they get highlighted blue) if you want to operate layers and not their content (e.g. to drag to reorder) or click their markers to select their content — circle (target ones) or square (selection ones) next to them. There is no real difference which to pick, but if you want to select a range of layers, using Shift, use target markers.

Same issue here. Fails to preview and sometimes crashes as well.
