Correct direction of the object rotate function
When rotating objects in a positive angle direction, objects SHOULD rotate CLOCKWISE
When rotating objects in a negative angle direction, they SHOULD rotate COUNTER CLOCKWISE
Illustrator seems to be BACKWARDS from all other programs I have ever used...

The reason behind this old decision is math: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orientation_(vector_space)
And since the application is made by engineers and programmers — they used math. Alas, it’s too expensive to change from UX point of view (which is our, users’, nerves and tears).
I’d not cross my fingers on that.(Edited by admin) -

Couldn't agree more. Its the most ridiculous decision ever. If Adobe are consistent at one thing expertly, its inconsistency.

Please change the rotate function in the following ways:
When turning clockwise, it should be a positive degrees number and a negative for counter-clockwise. Currently, this is opposite and this is counter-intuitive, which is why I cannot get used to it.
Enlarge the tiny "angle " circle to something about twice the size. I need to use tiny changes of angles of just a few degrees all the time, and this tiny circle means that I am fiddling all the time with it and end typing the degrees (and thus go wrong with positive/negative).
Place the start "line" vertically at 12 o'clock instead of at 3 o'clock, like it is now. Also this works counter-intuitive.
Thanks.
