Here we go, the first Beta version with the Dimension tool. Still very basic, but more features are to come. Please try the Beta 27.7 (available in the Beta section in your Creative Cloud Desktop application), test the tool and give the team your feedback here in comments. and refer to roadmap to see what will be added later.

The most recent version finally has the Object > Distribute menu added.
Now both Align and Distribute commands can be accessed via menu and have assigned keyboards shortcuts to them.
The order of the commands though seemingly matches the one the panel has: horizontal first for Align and vertical first for Distribute. If you find this odd and want to change it — vote here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/45855823-sync-the-order-of-align-and-distribute-menu-comman
Also, Align To and Distribute Spacing commands are still missing in top menus, so please keep voting here to make them added too.

It is such a WASTE of TIME using the align menu with the mouse. It would be SO Much faster to use SINGLE KEY short cuts to align objects. IE 'W' to align to Top, "X' to align to Bottom, 'A' To align Left, 'D' to align Right ETC.
We have to make illustrator leaner, meaner and FASTER!
Thanks
JG

You can now enable 'Auto Size' option in Type > Area Type Options and Illustrator will automatically reduce the height of the frame to fit content.

It would be nice if the selection area of text did NOT extend beyond the limits of the text itself. There is an invisible 'window' around text that will select the text when this are is clicked. It also aligns to the invisible window when aligning to other objects. Would like this are to be removed, so it is easier to select things around or near text.
Have NO idea what the purpose of this area is...Jeffrey Guy supported this idea ·

Yes indeed it is very frustrating waiting for drawings to save, and you are stuck not being able to work on other illustrator files until the last one is saved. A conservative estimate is that I wast about 5 whole days a year waiting for things to save. Multiply this estimate by the thousands of users you are looking at many centuries of valuable work time going down the drain.... Very archaic Software!!

When moving the file tabs at the top it would be nice to be able to place them wherever you want without trying to carefully stay in the bounds of the tabs. If you move the mouse to high or too low when trying to move a file tab, it dumps it at the far right side. Of course you should be able to auto order the top file tabs by filename, size, dat or whatever you want.
