Clipping Mask with complex objects
I'm trying to clipping mask an object not that complicated (1000 points) and Illustrator says it's to complex (really?). But if I do a "paste inside" with Indesign, Illustrator allows the Clipping Mask.
It's crazy since Illustrator should be the right software to work with multiple points vector.

Mark, there is a separate request to 'flatten' clipping groups (but better than Pathfinder Merge):
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/35456389But the thing you request is somewhat different, you want to just remove those object that are not visible within the mask, correct? To tidy up, to remove unneeded clipped objects? Can you please make it a separate feature request?

It would seem fairly essential/required that when a clipping mask of a lot of grouped, complex objects is required, that the user could discern and delete all objects outside of the clipping mask - oh how I wish Adobe would address this issue.

Yeah, 1000 points is complex enough, however, the fact it can be worked around with Paste Inside...
Voted. This should be reconsidered. -
