Long (Block) Shadow effect / Oblique Projection
the addition of the "long shadow" effect, which is popular in recent times, will greatly benefit the user.

I work in the sign industry and a lot of times customers like to do a drop shadow say on a unit number like the attached file. Now if I try to achieve this using the blend tool with 1000 steps when I go to merge it crashes my computer. I need it merged to cut the decal out. So most of the time I make two copies of the image, position my shadow, merge them and take out the points needed to give it the effect. However it really sucks with curved letters and numbers and when I have to do dozens of unit numbers. Also after I cut the decal and realize I missed deleting a point that really sucks. I have been thinking Adobe would do this for years as other sign programs I have used do it easy. Every time there is a new version I think I bet they figured it out but nope. Also can we increase the work space Say I am working with a 20' sign I just design it making the size 24.0 in. However, at some point I have to scale it up to cut the vinyl for the sign and that is where I run in to issues and have to get creative and do it in pieces. Thank you for hearing my ideas.

Great idea Jeremy! In real life, objects rarely hover above a surface. Shadows are attached to the object casting the shadow.

Please consider adding a projected drop shadow as an option to the drop shadow effect. See attachment for a visual.
