To be able to make Illustrator a 3D drawing software as well.
I want to be able to have a 3D view of the artwork, because illustrator is based on paths I thought rather that it would be cool to navigate it in 3D.

Latest versions of Illustrator allow to covert flat vector objects into 3D ones and export them into 3D formats or flat images — with Effect > 3D and Materials effects, also accessible from Window > 3D and Materials panel.
