Import later versions of dwg
I would love to see an update so that you can import later versions of dwg files than AutoCad 2007. Most of our clients are working in later versions so it has become a big problem for us not being able to import these files into Illustrator.

I'm dead in the water today because Illustrator no longer lets me open AutoCAD files. This is a dealbreaker in my line of work or anyone who works with architects. Don't make us go back to using Corel Draw because it does the import function better. ADOBE! STOP BREAKING THE FEATURE THAT WORK!!!

I agree, I don't understand why the import DWG files is stuck to the 2007 version.
We are more and more trying to work collaboratively and it's boring to ask to collaborators to open a file only for saving it to a legacy format.
Please try to support latest versions, or at least don't check the file signature (sometimes it's only a matter of wording, without no structural changes)

I completely agree!
Hopefully by updating compatibility to the later versions we'll no longer need to revert to PDFs that inherently contain a lot of triangulated hatches!!!

Reason: Open dwg directly into ILLustrator CC 2018 with out having to request the designer backl save me an file in old Autocard format, or me printing to a pdf.
Thank you.
