An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Hutchings commentedWhile we are amending functionality to re-include .ait, why not give us the option to choose which supported file types appear in the recently used list - it's so frustrating that the list gets cluttered by raster file types such as .png .jpg when they are created upon export. I do not have a need to open in Illustrator a file type which it cannot edit!
Additionally, a duplicate function (similar to Photoshop) which would enable me to leave the template file open and duplicate it each time I create a new file based from it. (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/39696586-duplicate-file)

We have rolled out a version with the fix for this issue. Please update to 27.8.1 from your Creative Cloud App to have the issue fixed. Thanks for your patience.
An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Hutchings commentedSame here on my company Dell Precision Win 10 laptop, oddly my Mac mini M2 with the same plugins and AI version, doesn't experience this. Renaming the Vectorizing Presets file did the trick.
On Windows you'll find it here - C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 27 Settings\en_GB\x64
Replace USERNAME with yours and en_GB with your own locale specific.

Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…

An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Hutchings commentedIf I understand Jean-Jacques correctly, I believe this request can be better understood by asking to make the blob brush function the same as the paintbrush in Photoshop whereby when you click on a location on the artboard and then hold the shift key, then click somewhere else, the two points are connected by a straight filled area consistent with the brush size settings. This minor tweak would massively improve the usability of the tool.
Currently the Blob brush supports the use of the shift key to constrain to a straight line but only when you press shift before use and therefore restricts its use to vertical and horizontal lines (and 45 degree diagonals - but I've only managed to do this accidentally!) only.

An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Hutchings commented@Richard - Tony is describing the way the new feature should function, so that all you eventually should need to do is 'Right click on the tab and select Duplicate from the drop down menu'.

Don't forget to include .ait in the filter selection so we can include templates!
