A preference to not select objects by center point
I do not want to select objects by their center point. I never do. I do not want to have to change this setting in the Attributes panel every. single. time. I want to disable object selection by center point.

Jacob, some shapes get the centerpoint enabled by default: ellipses, rectangles, stars, polygons... The bounding box’s fat center marker usually obstructs these (and that’s why I personally keep it disabled, among many other reasons).
We can disable them manually, using the Attributes panel, but only after post-creation.

It looks like objects with no fill now have a centerpoint that is always selectable by the selection tool. This means an object with no fill is selected when using the group selection tool inside of that object, even though the path is outside of the selection area.
Is there a way to disable this or otherwise exclude the center of an empty object from group selection? I know I can move that object to another layer and lock it, but that is cumbersome when I do want to select and edit that object with the others.

David, would a requested option to disable center points at all would make it better?
Or do you need these to be still snappable, but excluded from selection only?
