Lock Attributes Independently
I would like to be able to lock some attributes of an object but not others. For example, lock an object in place, but keep ability to change its colors. Or lock proportions and colors, but keep ability to move and scale, etc.

Macromedia Freehand had a feature that let you lock an element (like a text block) so it would'n move, but you coudl still edit the content. That was an exelent feature that let you edit a text serval times with out moving it by error.

Try to View > Hide bounding box.
This will leave you everything except accidental resizing and rotating.
When you need it back you can press Ctrl+Shift+B, or call Free Transform (which is broken though) by hitting E... or rebind Bounding Box to E :) -

It would be nice to be able to lock an item from any changes except when moving or grouping.
I find that when I move object around I accidentally resize them which then changes their aspect ration and then I have to start all over. It would be nice to lock an item from changes such as color, size, etc... but still allow the object to be moved around on the art board.
Consequently, if I can lock an item, it would naturally follow that an unlock functionality should be there too.

This relates to the idea of InDesigns master pages, but in Illustrator it would great to lock the position of something but leave everything else editable. Someone posted about shapes being able to lock, but I think for type it would also work great.

Would be great to have a Feature "Lock Position" so you can still edit color/shape from the layer but the position is locked..
Thanks
