Update corner widget so it is not constrained by other points...
Currently, other anchors on a path will constrain the corner widget. Attached is a very simple example. I would like for the tool to be a bit more intelligent in how it handles corners in these situations.

An interesting request...
The current approach to this would be to 'repair' the corner first, and there is a plugin I know that handles this... Deleting the small segment and using the native Join Tool would have worked for this as well, if it wouldn’t add points (and handles to otherwise straight new segments for no reason)...I bet this won’t happen any time soon. Widgets are bound to the singular points in Ai by math.
Bu a solution you can try is to use the rather new Smooth instead — like the GIF attached shows. It won’t be a perfect rounding, but if you need it perfect, it’s OK to have the path perfect first, I think :)
