Move Hidden Layers with Parent
I can't Move Hidden layers, groups, and objects if they are part of a group. Even if I click the targe icon, nothing hidden selects.
Sincerest apologies to those familiar with the workflow in Illustrator but coming from photoshop it is mind-boggling that a Parent object does not move its children along with it just because they are invisible.
Photoshop handles this exactly as one would expect and moves hidden items. Just because I can't see it doesn't also mean that it behaves as if locked.
Context: when building a character for Character Animator a very complex grouping structure exists for every part of the body, and then those parts are duplicated for left and right profiles, and for whatever other body positions are needed.
Making everything visible to move these complex groups and then turning them all off again to make new art is extremely time-consuming and prone to error over the number of layers that will be turning on and off in Ch.
Am I completely wrong? If so please show me a better way.
Thanks in advance for the time...

Hello Egor, I have the same problem. The workflow you described works with assets (like your rectangles), but not with layers. It would be a great help if this worked with hidden layers that are parented too.

Actually, I believe this had been fixed.
Let’s test it:
1. Create a rectangle
2. Copy it four times
3. Select them all and group
4. Open Layers
5. Keep one normal, lock the other one, hide next, and hide+lock the last one
6. Try to select a group on canvas (by clicking the unlocked rectangle, or with a marquee, or using Select All command)
7. Move it or rotate it — it does for me
8. Unlock All, Unhide All — all rectangles got moved and rotated too.
9. Undo to step 6
10. In Layers target the group (either way, by clicking target or selection marker next to it) — now you have only one first rectangle selected and only it. without its locked-hidden siblingsSo it works. However, it is broken when you are in isolation mode... but this is a different story and has a separate report:

Vote there! As for this one — should it be closed?
Does it work now for everybody?

No, Glenn, this is a different thing, for artboards. The OP says about groups that are locked and/or hidden within other groups.

Hi, you can actually configure this by editing your preferences
Edit > Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display
Check the box 'Move Locked and Hidden Artwork with Artboard' -

OMG, same here with Ch. It's so frustrating! I have to create 15 different characters with left and right profiles, this is a pure nightmare. There is even an option to move the hidden layers with the artboard in the preference settings, but not with the parenting layers...

I agree - it should move with the parented item, scale with it, rotate, etc. , not stay in place.
