We need Watermark Panel
I have suffered several times from clients who have steals my work and doesn’t pay the remaining 50% of the contract because it is a tedious job to make changes to a design and add, each time I need to export the artboard a watermark.
It would be great to have a panel or a checkbox to apply a watermark to the entire artboard and that way we defend ourselves against bad clients easier.
And if we can add our custom watermark, much better.

Adding a simple 'watermark' is something you can do easily with Actions panel. Create a new action, start recording, place and the the image, stop recording, assign a hotkey to the action. Once you run it, Illustrator places the link for you. You can also record changing its transparency, etc.
The other problem is that a watermark like this (and any other watermark in a vector document) is quite easy to remove. The only plausible way is to protect your PDFs with a password (also hackable), or stick to raster images as a media (and there are ways to 'de-watermark' these also).
