Colors: bring existing color to front
I ran into this so many times: I want to change an element with a colored fill, go to the color palette hit the new color and boom: I have an outline because I forgot to switch to fill. So I need to delete that outline, swap from outline to fill color and do what I initially wanted: Change the fill color. WHY does Illustrator not automatically bring the color to front that already exists on an element? If an element only has a fill, bring the fill to front upon selction. If an element only has an outline bring the outline to the front. So you can easily and fast apply a change. (And one can still swap to apply an additional element).

Thanks Egor, of course I know that Illustrator will not know what my intentions are. :-)
But 85% of the cases I want to change whats already applied.I support your request though!

And hi again :)
Because Ai does not know about your intentions. Maybe setting a stroke color is exactly what you wanted to do.
But as always, you might want to vote for a more general request, that asks for setting a fill / stroke directly, holding Alt modifier: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/44104935
Thanks for reporting and requesting!
