A brush that places elements on anchors
I would like a brush that places its elements along the path but rather than just distributing the elements or scattering them, it places the elements exactly on the anchors of the path. It should not distort the elements.
It would be great if it could have individual elements for the endpoints and for the inner points. More control would be possible if it could allow separate elements for corner points and for smooth points. That way objects could be placed along a path precisely.
Use case: maps, metro lines maps infographics

To achieve this now we need a set of 3 different art brushes with 'stretch between guides' option set and adjusted, with no-stroke-no-fill rectangles behind to set the bounds, and each point cut.
Monika is aware of this method most probably.

Oooh that would be exactly the tool I'm looking for!
I asked on the forums for a way to dynamically add circles to the anchor points of my path, but so far, no perfect solution has been found. It's either not dynamic, or the circles get distorted, or circles are missing on acute or obtuse angles…

Looks like a combination of an Art Brush with its 'scaling between guides' option, and a Pattern Brush, with its control over corner and end points. This can be somewhat achieved with cutting the path... but I am sure you tried this already :)
