Allow to disable or enable center points for all or specific objects types on creation
With Area Type, if I use the text tool to highlight a word (for example, if I want to embolden the word), if I catch the centre point of the text box in the wrong way, Illustrator will assume that I want to create a new text box, which I don't. I know I can manually disable the centre point via the Attributes panel, but I need to set the centre point to OFF by default, and to my knowledge there is no way of doing this.

A preference to not select objects by center point

Each object in Illustrator has a center but it's only visible if you manually click the 'Show Center' in the Attributes Panel for the active object. Wouldn't it be great if the center was always shown, and that you didn't have to set each object manually?

That's fine. Thank you!

I’ve converted this report into a feature request.
There is a definite benefit in the ability to always have it or never have it at all, for some or all object types.
Thanks for raising this up! -

yes.
The center point affects the selection of the inside of the rectangle (shape), and when selecting objects inside the rectangle (shape), it is often incorrect to choose the outside rectangle (shape). -
You mean to force or disable center points by default for all or some specific objects?

Found this feature, thank you!
Can this feature be set as default? -

Sorry, I couldn't find this feature. :(

The difference is the middle point of the larger rectangle on the right.
You can turn it off with the Attributes panel. -

Selecting objects within different rectangles results in different selection outcomes.

I’d also like the same option for Circles, rectangles, etc. Perhaps a key I can press while creating these shapes and objects to toggle the behavior.
