Objects on Path needs a way to control spacing / gaps precisely, with a value
At the moment we can’t control spacing (gaps) between objects on path ion the new Objects on Path type of object (what a beautiful sentence).
We can only eyeball it with a slider, which is incrementing by points (despite me having set millimeters as my ruler units).
There is no field I can type something like 0.125 mm, or at least a modifier key (like Cmd/Ctrl) to make the slider go slower ×10 (or any other value I choose somewhere in Preferences or at least in Adobe Prefs file, buried in Ai’s folders).
Perhaps yo should also allow us to dobule-click the slider itself and enter the number directly in the field there on canvas, but having one in Contextual Task bar will do (otherwise why having it).

Two more related requests:
1. Allow to Move All objects and adjust their Spacing from both ends in Objects on Path — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48987941
2. Add an option to measure gaps between objects in Objects on Path by their bounds, not between centers — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48987905 -
Agree!
For me it jumps with 1 pt step, not even a half a point.
And actually it jumps for me in with 0.35 mm step, because the team believes everybody in the world uses fraction of an inch, and PostScript’s points, being the foundation of Ai, should also be a it’s rigid coffin. I do not care about points, and don’t want to see them anywhere.
I suggested having a slow drag mode, so we can hold Cmd/Ctrl while dragging the slider, to make it go with 10 times smaller increment. Ideally, the value should be customizable (if not from within the UI, bowels of Prefs file will do).
And surely we just need a filed somewhere as well to edit the value directly, or even a way to double-clik the slider handle to enter it right there on canvas.

When adjusting the spacing of Objects on a Path, the increments jump too much. Especially if the path is quite long and has a lot of objects on it, a jump of 0.5pt can make a huge difference.
It would be great if it jumped smaller amounts, and even better if there was a field in the Properties panel where you could manually enter a spacing amount rather than just using the slider.
