Allow Join Tool to join selected open diverging paths with a straight connection
The Join Tool isn't working as it should. It trims extra paths but it doesn't join the anchor points.

Thanks, Egor. I thought it was broken. So, on my end, those two paths go sideways instead of intersecting at a point. To join this I will use the menu command (Object > Path > Join) to join it.
I think the menu command or the shortcut will do the work but if you think it would be a good feature to have that does both, then you can convert it into a feature request.Thanks again. ✌️

Ashraful, as the help article says (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/tool-techniques/join-tool.html): The Join tool lets you connect nearby paths at their intersection point.
So the Join Tool works only for the converging paths. The two ends at the top are diverging (and straight), so their continuations won’t join ever. So the tool does nothing.It makes sense though, to allow it to do so, if you ask me... won’t you mind if I convert your report into a feature request?
