Adjust colors to Black/White with a Threshold
I am missing an easy way to convert illustrator selections to pure black and white (not grayscale).
Comes in handy especially with Gen AI, since that does not understand how to create pure black and white results.

I wish I could tell 'hey, use Recolor for this' — but no, Recolor can’s use a threshold to sieve the values. At least I I failed to use it like this :D
But I know a method you can use to do it.
1. Group your artwork
2. Use Edit > Edit Colors > Convert to Grayscale
3. Copy and Paste in Front this group
4. Change the blending mode of the copy to Color Burn
5. Paste another copy and change its mode to Color Dodge
6. In CMYK it’s usually enough, but in RGB document you’d need to make two more copies of these duplicates
7. Now it should look B/W only. Select all the groups and call Object > Flatten Transparency dialog
8. Make Raster/Vector balance into 100, choose Preserve Alpha Transparency, hit OK
It should flatten it all into pure black and white only shapes
It can be automated partially, so I hope it helps.
And sure, it should be a thing from the box, I think.
