When Create Outlines is invoked for a multiline text, the Grouping could be much better.
Currently, when choosing to ungroup the result, every character becomes a separate object.
How great would it be when Create Outlines makes a 4 level Group hierarchy this way:

    Text > Paragaphs > Lines > Words > Characters

So 4x ungroup results in separate characters.
3x gives separate words (separator = space), 2x gives separate lines (separator = return), 1x gives separate Paragraphs (empty line / double return = separator).

    Makes sense, doesn't it?

Align Stroke to the outside of typography is essential for creating readable typography.
    Why is it grayed out?

I know we can use the Appearance Palette, but please, make it easy to use outside strokes for text, since it is used a lot, and the appearnce palette is not the best part of Illustrator, to put it mildly.

I downgraded to 29.5, where cmd-f is still fine: Paste in Front.
Please repair in next update! Thanks.

Please add functionality to export (selected) Layers as separate files.

    I use Ai often as a texture-creator.
I create layers for color, bump, normal, reflection etc. to import in Cinema4D.

Since export to .psd / Write Layers does not work in every case, it would be nice to have the possibility to export Layers as separate images.

For strokes with a non uniform width, it is essential to define the vertex (anchor point) where the stroke starts to be 'drawn'.
Please make a function to set this (preferably, right click the anchor point and set it to the first point)

(And please don't come with workarounds such as the Scissors tool - I would like to see a way to do this basic manipulation, that should be present in every profession vector drawing app)

It should be a basic behavior - lots of shapes need to end at the bounds of artboards.
Both InDesign and Photoshop have this feature.

There are now several separate requests made, based on the feedback in this thread:

    1. Regarding adjustable color and opacity for 3D shadows:

    https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/47054086

    2. Regarding presets for each tab in 3D and Materials panels: Object, Materials, Lighting:

    http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/47350001

All those who commented on the topic until October 16, 2023, are already added as voters there. If this is something you want to have for 3D and Materials in Illustrator — please upvote it. If possible — create new requests and bug reports about 3D, rather than commenting here inside. This will help the team to better prioritize efforts on making the feature better. As always — thanks for the feedback! It helps.

I would like to see more vector style 3d-effects: long shadows, isometry, graphical projections, solid shadows, all things we can't do with 3d-software.
All the pixel / 3d rendering / material effects are better done in specialized software, such as Cinema4D or Substance. Ai is the goto vector drawing program, so please keep it vectorish in the first place. (btw, I loved Adobe Dimensions [with an S, hard to find any information on that thing] - bring that back within Illustrator)

To bring a complete 3d-rendering system in Ai is a dead end. See how even Photoshop failed with that.

Here is my example, requested by Egor Chistyakov | Admin:

    -Create a text
    -Create Outlines (cmd-shift-o)
-Choose 3D and Materials / Extrude & Bevel, keep the Default setting
-In the 3D and Material Panels, choose ‘Quick and ‘Expand as wireframes’
-Zoom in on curves of the created ‘wireframe’ and see how those of the extrusion don’t match those of the caps.
    (pic 1)

Do the same with Classic 3d and Object / Expand appearance, and see how the result perfectly matches. (pic 2)

Please make it as accurate as the legacy effect.

The new 'improved' effects' results have a lot of abberations in the paths.

Please make Expand work for these, just like for any other object in Illustrator.

I would like to expand 3d Extrudes as they look, just like in older versions was possible.
    Not 'as wireframes'.

When making a detailed slection of corner widgets, to set all to a certain value, Ai looses the selection when the Hand Tool is used. Why not make this proces more Adobe Illustrator-style anyway: select Anchor Points with the direct selection tool, double click one of the Corner Widgets, set a value for all selected corners. Done. Intuitive and fast.

Why not make this more easy anyway: let us select Anchor Points with the direct selection tool and then double click one of the Corner Tools to set 'm all to a value. More Adobe Illustrator-style workflow imho.
