Dynamic Measuring Tool

Just a thought for the upcoming year.
Add functionality to the Measuring tool. The ability to extend the length of the Measuring tool after the dimension is recorded and have the measurement record the new dimension.
Currently the measured distance is static WYSIWYG. Would make placing objects in Illustrator a lot easier.

Illustrator has two different tools: Measure tool and Dimension tool. Do you mean the Dimension one?
Not sure I get your request right, but today the dimensions created on canvas get attached to the points and objects, and when we scale or move the objects, attached dimensions reflow automatically. So they aren’t static.
Or do you mean a different thing altogether, an ability to edit the text in the dimension and make the object rescale, CAD-style?
