When using direct select tool to adjust anchor points and handles, keep all anchor points and handles visible
When using direct select tool to adjust anchor points and handles, please keep ALL anchor points and handles visible, as opposed to everything disappearing but the point/handle you are working with. It is impossible and frustrating to try to join/snap to anchor points, or adjust points or handles relative to other points or handles when you can’t see them!. Thank you!

Yes, this is exactly what I mean, comparing how Affinity and AI handle viewing anchor points while editing. Affinity makes it so easy…no extra steps, it just does it. I can easily grab the object that I want to edit, and then clearly see the anchors and handles of other objects around it so I can do whatever I need to do. If I am trying to snap two points together I can easily see and feel it. I don’t have to be zoomed in super close to edit.
I like the other suggestions too. The easier Adobe makes it to select what you want and be able to make edits simply would be huge.
Thank you for getting back to me! I appreciate it!

I see, you just want all handles always displayed for a fully selected object...
Back in 2018 I made a request to at least rendered those that are shown when an object is transformed, here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/35931781
Then, there was a request to show the anchors for all other objects, to snap something to them:
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/35012974All modes do make sense, although in specific conditions...
Speaking of this specific thing you mean, I see the difference in the behavior comparing Affinity and Ai.
Affinity operates in something close to the 'soft isolation' mode (requested here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/32614096, as well as mentioned in several other request). So, if one selects several anchors in different paths, moving one handle won’t make the all other paths other than the one that has the anchor deselected — Ai, however, drops the other path’s selection. Is this what you mean? -

Hello Egor,
I checked out what you meant about the dedicated button in the control panel for ‘show handles for multiple selected anchor points’. But… I mean for Ai to display all handles and anchors for an object (or objects) that I select (V tool), and then I need them to all stay displayed for the selected objects when I go to edit one of the anchors or handles (direct select tool A). Sometimes I want to adjust a handle to match another anchors handle. Sometimes I want to move an anchor point to match another anchor point, or join one anchor on top of the other. But this can not be done if everything disappears but the one anchor or handle you select with the direction tool. This is how Affinity Designer works, and it so helpful that I really wish it could be done in Illustrator. Thank you!

Jill, do you mean that Ai should display all handles for all the anchors even when they are NOT selected?
Or do you want to see handles for anchors that ARE selected? If the latter, there is a dedicated button in the Control panel (not Properties) that does exactly this — 'Show handles for multiple selected anchor points'.
Does it work for you?
