1. Puppet Warp should respect existing layer structures.

   I love Puppet Warp but I hate having to ungroup my paths and put them back in the layer structure that works for me when I'm done using Puppet Warp.

   Please do whatever needs to be done so that I can grab a bunch of paths about multiple layers, Puppet Warp them, and have them stay in the same place they were before I did this. I'm fine if it's a switch in the tool's settings because some people love this behavior.

2. Allow for negative value input and Option click with Line Segment Tool

   The original idea by Johan Perjus, from https://medium.com/design-bootcamp/things-i-wish-adobe-would-address-with-adobe-illustrator-4796a89e1bae

   As you may know, holding down the Option key and clicking on your artboard with any of the shape tools (Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, Star) creates the shape centered on where you clicked, as opposed to the right and down from where you clicked. Please also apply this function to the Line Segment Tool as well as allow for negative value input in order to create the line in the opposite direction of the current angle value, just as you can enter a negative value to move an object in the opposite direction of the set angle with the Selection Tool. This would be a lot faster than first typing the value and then changing the angle value from for example 0° to 180° when you want to draw a line going right to left instead of the default left to right.

      Allow the grid to be activated directly from the main interface and to personalize the isometric grid or the classic grid , without having to navigate through the software settings or preferences. video demonstration 4

      Not only allow multiple canvases to be displayed in the same workspace and make it easier to copy and paste one or more objects between canvases (something that is already present), but more importantly offer the ability to flip the canvas and rename the canvas name directly and immediately. video demonstration 3

   3. Advanced snapping options (magnet/calamite).
      Provide more options for snapping functionality, such as:
      Snapping to objects
      Snapping to the grid
      Snapping to guide lines
      Snapping to canvas edges
      Snapping to distances and reference dimensions

      Snapping at points
      Snapping by collision and formation

4. Allow to hold Shift to force Aligned (orthogonal) Dimensions

   Ai now tries to smartly detect a relative position of the cursor to a dimension being created and choose if it should be parallel or oblique.

   This sound like a smart solution, but in practice is SUCKS.

   Take a look at this small GIF.
   1. The dimension between two objects is live, and responds to the object being moved up and down fine
   2. But if I choose to move it to the right, it says 'hey, I am a dimension between two points, I’m switching to be slanted'
   3. OK, I delete it and try to create anew. STRUGGLING, because the space is tight, and if I move the mouse too much, it thinks I try to create a horizontal one. Finally I am able to catch the sweet (sour) spot, and caaaarefully move it back holding my breath.
   4. Now it’s an orthogonal (aligned) dimension and I can realign my object back or move without a risk of loosing the status.

   But we can’t covert 'manual' dimensions into 'aligned' one!
   We can’t hold Shift to FORCE it to be aligned!
   WTF?!

5. Old Dogs New Tricks - "Stop modernizing mode" or "stop teaching new things mode"

   I've been using Illustrator since the 1990s and can use tools with my eyes closed and with keyboard commands like second nature. What trips me up every time I use it these days is it is constantly changing with little tweaks and updates! Insessant tool tips to teach me how to use the most basic of tool features!

   Can I please have a feature to
   1. Turn off tool tip prompts and teaching features
   2. Turn on 1990s mode or 2000s mode or 2010s mode makes the tools organize and perform as previous feature sets.

6. Smooth Tool slider applies to a partial selection. Make a way to quickly apply it to the full selection

   According to Madelyn Renaud (form here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/938463/suggestions/46987777):

   'I also have not been able to find the option for a global selection vs local, so the tool continues to isolate a single edge, forcing me to return to the selection tool and re-select the other elements to begin smoothing again. It's horrible and has made a smooth workflow into something clunky and annoying. Please change the smooth tool back to the way it was before!'

   Indeed, when using the slider together with Smooth tool, Ai selects the portion of the path which has just been affected by the tool. The slider then applies to this partial selection only. If one choses to apply this to the whole path instead, they are forced to reselect the whole path, and there is no a way to quickly do that with the slider itself.

   Sure, one can just learn to do that, but in heat of editing you just can easily miss some points are deselected.

   I would like to have some features of CAD programs, like fusion 360.

10. Add a triangle to the shapes tool apart from the star.

    I'd LOVE if there was a triangle tool other than using the star tool to make it easier and quicker. I make a lot of signs with arrows and it'd be SO nice. THX!

11. Add common shapes to of illustrator shape tool (heart, banners shields)

    Feels like reinventing the wheel just to get a heart. Have more easily accessible stock shapes and let the user upload more to the shape tool - make a "more" like button.

13. Make Smooth command to have the persist/sticky option

    I like the new Smooth command and I'm using it frequently enough that it would be nice to have a persist/sticky option for it instead of repeatedly going back to the Object menu.

    Also, I find that smoothing of 20% works well for a lot of shapes I'm editing but could the bar be enhanced with a few click-to bars to speed up this process (see attached). Maybe include this for the Simplify command as well.

14. Type number of sides for polygon tool and star tool

    Currently to get a number of points on a star you have to type the [up key] or [down key] But often I know what number of points or sides I want on the polygon or star.

    I'd like the ability to type the number of sides/points.

    This could be achieved in a number of ways:
    - An option panel (could change it after the fact as long as it is selected as long as the points haven't been moved?)
    - hold and drag and type the number (say 3, 6, 9, etc)
    - double click on the polygon/star icon on the tools palette which brings up a dialog box Then you can type in things like number of stars and size similar to the Line segment tool. (Also extend this to the rectangle, etc tools?)

    I'm pretty sure implementation of this probably would be a bit tricky? The number trick for hold and drag for sides 1-9 probably wouldn't be as hard to implement, given that up and down keys are already cued to the number of sides.

    The rest of it has some architecture, but probably would take longer to implement.

    It's annoying to have to go "I need an octagon, but I just got 9 sides" and then go, "Oh, I need a pentagon...." and then spend a good few minutes trying to magically get the number of sides. And then going, "Oh ****, I'd like to get the octagon again and it would be easier to draw it out than find where my last octagon was..." and then sit there again hoping to get the perfect number of sides.

    I'm not saying "eliminate the up and down key" because sometimes people don't know how many sides they need, etc and want that randomness, but I want precision too and sometimes on a new document that's super annoying.

    BTW, Scripts don't particularly work on my computer. So please don't recommend scripts.

15. Allow Shaper Tool to create stars

    Shaper Tool allows to create live rectangles, ellipses, polygons in a freehand manner: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/building-new-shapes-using-shape.html

    Recently a new live shape got added into Illustrator — Star.
    But Shaper Tool won’t create one if you try to scribble it.
    Not sure how popular Shaper Tool is, but it should be able to do it anyway.

16. Addressing long-standing graph tool issues

    Just went back to prerelease site where I logged a complaint about the Radar graph. Feedback was that the error was not an error but an intentional result. I am however not satisfied with that reply. Other graph tools remember grid line settings, font settings, etcetera. Radar tool reverts all those settings every time the graph is updated. This is not a logical result. But this is just one of many complaints about the graph tools and there has been zero development of graph tools, as far as I can see, since they first appeared over 30 years ago. I get angry every time I try to see if there has been any fix to ongoing errors, any new development in graph elements. Unfortunately for me there is no other graphing tool available that can give the graphic effects I require. For the umpteenth time please get some of your very talented developers to work on - or re-write - the graph tools. I rely on graph tools every day and have lots of awkward work arounds to get the work done where it should, and could, be much easier. LISTEN to your users for a change.

17. Star Tool: include center/origin lines

    This would be a small addition, but one that I think would be valued. All regular stars (that is, not "fun" stars whose inner circle radius has been enlarged to make them "puffy") are made up either of:

    1. A repeated/rotated shape
    2. A single line bouncing off the outer diameter that eventually meets itself again

    It would be a nice addition to this tool for those "origin lines" to be represented in the output so that we can more easily create art based on those lines instead of having to re-create the lines manually.

I started the project years ago using the French Curve tools that were available in the Adobe Draw app that is no longer available. I need those tools to complete my book project. Drawing pattern drafts require those tools. Please put the French Curve tools back into the tools area for the iPad Adobe Illustrator app to be used with Apple Pencil. I can’t move forward to complete my project goal. Thank you so much!

19. Allow For Time and Dates Values With Graphs Tools

    Currently, Illustrator graphing tools only allow for using whole, decimal, and percentage number values for plotting data in the different graphs Illustrator can make.

    I would like the option to also use date ranges and time value formats so that I could make dynamic graphs and charts that plot that type of data as well.

20. The size of the box should attenuate AI generator detail

    I love the new AI feature, but creating a smaller box for the AI to generate in should attenuate the detail. A simple "bird" command creates an overly-detailed drawing for the scene, even with the detail slider set to "1"
